Fashion Photography with The French Lady

New Year, Same Blog.

I know, it’s been months since I’ve blogged last and am terribly behind. The fall was insanely busy for me between working my full-time job, teaching photography part-time, plus photoshoots for the holidays. It was insane, but I made it. Anyway, enough about me!

I want to start the year with sharing a shoot I did last fall with a local artist and cool Canadian lady, Julz.

Julz was the winner of my second Instagram contest. We met at one of Austin’s classic bars to do our shoot, The Longhorn Saloon, aka Little Ginny’s, Home of Chicken Shit Bingo - yes, you read that right.

We had so much fun during our shoot! She was a natural in front of the camera and such a blast to work with. She came prepared with multiple outfit choices (my favorite thing about fashion shoots) and rocked every piece!

The bar manager was kind enough to let us shoot inside. These are some of my favorite shots! Let me tell you, I was nervous as hell about the lighting because it was really dark, but it worked! There was only one person in there which was a perfect setting for a desolate shoot in an old bar.

Julz bringing it back with the 90s vibe. I loved all of her styling choices. This last set was my favorite because we found this metal door and worked with it. Her hair color contrasted against the door beautifully. These are things that you should look out for when photographing a client. You want to make sure they pop - enhancing their beauty!

I’m incredibly lucky to work with such amazing people. Julz was awesome and I know we will work together again in the future. Be sure to check out her insta and impressive artwork here.
